Ola Gen3 Scooter launch:
On Friday, Ola Electric unveiled its new Gen 3 electric scooter range, with prices starting at ₹79,999 for the entry-level S1 X featuring a 2kWh battery, and reaching up to ₹1,69,999 for the premium S1 Pro+ equipped with a 5.3kWh battery. The new lineup includes the S1 Pro, S1 Pro+, along with the budget-friendly S1 X and S1 X+, all powered by Ola’s advanced EV operating system, ‘MoveOS 5.’
Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO of Ola Electric, emphasized that the company continues to lead the industry, stating, “While our competitors are still stuck at Gen1, we’ve already moved to Gen3.”
Gen3 Scooter Details and price:
The entry-level S1 X offers battery options of 2kWh, 3kWh, or 4kWh, while the S1 X+ is available only with a 4kWh battery. S1 Pro+ delivers an impressive range of 320 km and a top speed of 141 km/h.
Ola has introduced the new S1 Pro+ scooter in its Gen 3 lineup, offering two battery options—4kWh and 5.3kWh—delivering ranges of 240km and 320km with price Rs 1,54,999 and Rs 1,69,999 respectively.
What’s new in Gen3 technology ?
Ola’s innovative ‘Brake by Wire’ technology is a key highlight of the Gen 3 lineup. This system utilizes sensors on the brake lever to optimize brake pad wear and motor resistance, boosting the scooter’s range by 15% with Bharat battery and extending brake pad life by twice as long.
The motor also harnesses regenerative braking to generate electricity, enhancing overall efficiency. Aggarwal, who co-invented this technology.
When Will Bookings for Ola Gen 3 Scooters Start?
Orders for the Gen 3 scooters open from 31st Jan 2025, with deliveries set to start in mid-February. The Ola S1 Pro+, featuring Bharat Cells, will be available for delivery in April. Additionally, Ola has revealed that its new Roadster X motorbike will be launched on February 5, 2025.
Ola is offering lower prices for the Gen 3 scooters compared to the Gen 2 models. While Gen 2 scooters will continue to be available, they will see temporary price reductions for the next seven days.
